Antes de ver c\u00f3mo el VIX calcula la volatilidad, primero debemos considerar lo que realmente queremos decir con <\/span>volatilidad en relaci\u00f3n al mercado de valores<\/span><\/a>. Como indicador del sentimiento del mercado, el VIX puede ayudar a los inversores a anticipar tendencias y dise\u00f1ar estrategias de cobertura. Act\u00faa efectivamente como una medida de la oferta y la demanda, aumentando cuando aumenta la demanda de opciones de venta, una tendencia que tiende a reflejar ansiedad en el mercado.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Parad\u00f3jicamente, comprar cuando el VIX est\u00e1 alto y vender cuando est\u00e1 bajo es una estrategia bien establecida. Si bien el comercio en el VIX en s\u00ed no se puede realizar directamente, es posible invertir en el VIX indirectamente a trav\u00e9s de futuros, opciones o ETF de VIX (Exchange Traded Funds).<\/span><\/p>\n
